KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig
KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig, inaugurated in 1900, was an important location for civic celebrations and associations, the meeting place and the cultural heart of Leipzig. Between 1947 and 1981 it was home to the famous Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. The go-ahead for its complete renovation was given in 2009, when the city decided to convert the edifice into a modern congress centre. All building and extension works were completed in 2015. The juxtaposition of historic styles and modern elements gives the venue a unique appeal. Since early 2016, the KONGRESSHALLE has been available to meeting planners for conferences, meetings and events: depending on size either the whole building or parts thereof. On three conference levels and one exhibition level, the venue features 15 halls and rooms for 10 to 1,200 persons, and in addition numerous foyers and lounge or exhibition spaces.
