Leipzig, 12th January 2016 – This Brockhaus-themed suite features warm, dark colours and clear modern forms, combined with exclusive design classics. The renovation and refurbishment works in one of the Presidential Suites at the Hotel Fürstenhof, Leipzig are now complete. The Grand Hotel style which characterises the traditional Hotel Fürstenhof, Leipzig has been preserved; however, the room concept, interior and materials are now presented in a classic upscale design, combined with modern technology. "Leipzig now has a Presidential Suite which is unparalleled in design, features and functionality," says General Manager Jörg Müller.

The Hotel Fürstenhof is always the first choice for Bill Clinton, Angela Merkel, Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey and other regular national and international guests during their stay in Leipzig. "With this spectacularly refurbished suite, we are delighted to offer our loyal guests one more reason to come to Leipzig," says Jörg Müller. The newly-refurbished, spacious and light-flooded 181 m² Brockhaus Presidential Suite of the Hotel Fürstenhof, Leipzig offers pure designer luxury. Alongside the classical building and its history, the design process has been guided by the themes of 'tradition and modernity' and ‘Leipzig, city of books and book printing’. Müller explains: "We are proud to have worked with craftsmen and architects from the region on the reinterpretation of these historical premises, which are now ready to welcome modern luxury travellers."

The careful redesign of the historic suites was entrusted to the architecture firm Schettler Architekten from Weimar and to ruuk Interior from Leipzig, who had previously been responsible for giving the Bauhaus designer room at the Hotel Elephant in Weimar, the second Luxury Collection hotel in Germany, its distinctive character. The project at the Hotel Fürstenhof, Leipzig also enjoyed local support from the Leipzig fashion label Zukker, who created a small collection of exclusive interior textiles and accessories especially for the suites. The classical features of the suites at the Hotel Fürstenhof, Leipzig have been reinterpreted with a designer aesthetic that combines classic modernity with quality materials and innovative facilities. The ‘Cozy Style’ interior features high walls in a warm tone of grey, which strikingly contrast with the white stucco ceiling. The comfortable atmosphere of the suites is emphasised by dark, high wall panels of quilted leather, which are reminiscent of old English libraries.

The Schettler architects and ruuk Interior have sensitively arranged the historical furniture, refurbished by carpenters from the region, alongside exclusive designer classics. A cosy, rose-coloured wing chair by the renowned Danish furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of shopping. In addition, the salon features the crystal-clear sounds of the Mu-so wireless music system by Naim and the Sonos Playbar, a Playstation PS4 with Blu-ray player, as well as the opportunity to browse the 30-volume, 21st and last edition of the Brockhaus Encyclopedia. The boldly-designed, high-quality leather furniture in black and grey by Walter Knoll is complemented by accents of colour from the interior textiles, which feature bright green-yellows and soft tones of rose – the results of a collaboration with the Leipzig fashion label Zukker and the Danish fabric manufacturer kvadrat. The opulent, glittering glass chandelier by Barovier & Toso is the jewel of the salon. The handmade crystal designs of grey, rose and black Italian Murano glass immerse the luxurious living area in a sea of warm reflections of light.

Special attention has been paid to the bed as a place of rest and regeneration. Free-standing, raised on a platform and with a quilted leather back wall adorned with the historic carriage emblem of the Hotel Fürstenhof, Leipzig, it forms the centrepiece of the Brockhaus Suite. Three elegant bathrooms with green Venetian marble, a large walk-in glass shower and a separate bath are available to the guest as a private spa area. Aromatic, natural cosmetic products from the British luxury brand Molton Brown and fluffy bathrobes offer a sense of pure well-being.

The 181 m² Design Suite consists of two bedrooms and a living room. Furthermore, it can be also be separated into the 117 m² Brockhaus Suite and the 64 m² Sophia Brockhaus Suite, named after the wife of the famous Leipzig publisher.
